There are different windows errors that might cause this to happen. Some of them include Event ID errors, Service Host Superfetch error, Windows Modules Installer Worker error, etc.

The most common message usually displayed in Windows 10 PC after a crash is the “Event ID 1000” error.

Event ID Errors

There are different types of Event ID errors. They are numbered from Event ID 41 to Event ID 1000. Each error number represents a specific type of error and gives a little insight as to why the error occurred. It can also represent a specific application that has a problem on your computer. The errors are usually recorded on your system. The error usually pops up in a specific format. The format has the name of the application as well as its version. It also shows the address/location of the application on your computer’s local disk.

Event ID 1000 is a very common error message in windows 10 that comes up when an application crash because of some unknown events. These errors will be recorded in on your system’s Event Viewer. Anytime this error comes up, you will not be able to launch the said application. Even when it launches, it will crash within minutes or start crashing more often. There are many reasons why this might happen.

Like any error in a Windows PC, it is always important to eliminate and find a fix for the error as soon as possible. Now, lets now move on to the causes/ reasons why Event ID 1000 error occurs and how to fix it.

Causes of Event ID 1000 error

As earlier stated, there are different reasons why the error occurs. The causes include but not limited to:

- Corrupt system and application files: DLL files are system files that are very important for an application to run successfully. This is always the most likely reason for an application to crash. In addition, if there are missing windows modules, it can also cause the Event ID 1000 error.

- Microsoft .Net Framework error: .Net Framework is necessary for a lot of application to run. Even our computer comes pre-installed with it. when you install windows updates and framework is not properly installed, your Event viewer will display the Event ID 1000 error

- Outdated windows and drivers: Updates are usually released to fix a bug that an older version of a software has. Having old drivers and outdated windows can cause the error message to pop-up.

- Virus: Virus can also cause the error to occur. A virus always corrupt system files either by deleting them or making them unreadable for the application on the computer. When this happens, applications that need it will crash

Best Methods to Fix Event ID 1000 Error on Windows 10 PC

There is a process that your computer undergoes before the Event ID 1000 error appears. When an application encounter any of the problems earlier stated, your computer’s “Exception handler” process will kick it.

All windows computer are equipped with a process –“Exception handler system”– that automatically attempts to resolve or fix the error an application is facing. If it is unable to fix the error, the application will crash or frequently close unexpectedly. When the application crash, your computer’s operating system will try to save the application by saving memory dump. When your computer’s operating system does this, the Event ID 1000 error will be created or appear in your event’s log.

Event ID errors are very interesting to fix because of the process involved. They are technical at times but not difficult. Note: For some solutions to work:

- You must be online

- You need to download software

- Backup your PC

Scanning Windows Registry

Windows Registry can repair almost anything. It can be relied upon when error messages pop up on a windows system. This is because almost every error that develops on a computer can be traced back to a registry entry that is corrupt or missing or deleted. Before you can use this method, you need to have a good registry cleaner application on your computer. There are lots of Registry cleaner application and a chunk of them are not good. One of the best and most used cleaner application you can download for your computer is CCleaner.

The following are the steps involved in using this method.

  1. You need to download the CCleaner software and install on your PC. in case you have the CCleaner on your PC already, you can skip the first step
  2. Launch the CCleaner from your desktop shortcut and navigate to the registry tab once program window opens.
  3. Next, you have to check all the boxes that represent all the registry folders/files on your PC
  4. Backup: This step is optional and not for everybody. It is not going to do you any harm to backup your computer’s current registry. This is to safeguard your PC in case of any issues that might arise when trying to fix the Event ID 1000 error.

You can do this before you go to the next step.

  1. Once you do that, you can now click the option that says “Fix Selected issues”. As the name implies, it will scan and clean any error it finds in your registry.
  2. Proceed to launch the application that had the error in the first place to see if it no longer occur. If the problem still persists, you should try the next fix.

Performing a System File Checker Scan (SFC scan)

This works if the application in question has corrupt system files or if your computer itself has corrupt files. Whenever Event ID errors as a whole pop up on your system, the best way to deal with them is by searching for the reason why they occurred. This has to be done manually which is not only stressful but also timewasting.

System file checker scan is a faster way of doing this search. SFC scans do two things. The first and most important task is that the scans identify the causer of the error message. Next, the scan will try to diagnose and fix the error automatically. This scan can be completed within minutes unlike when you have to do it one by one.

System file checkers scans operate or work by searching for any WRP system file linked to applications but are now corrupt. When the scan identifies a file as being corrupt, it will then run a diagnostic on the file to see if it can fix the problem.

Note: Before you use this method or solution, you have to ensure that you are not running a patched windows software. Having an incomplete copy of windows on your system can cause a whole bunch of troubles on its own. In fact, it can also cause Event ID errors. This will be discussed in a more elaborate manner as another method.

So how can you use this type of method to fix Event ID 1000 error on your Windows 10 computer?

  • Press the Window + X buttons together on your keyboard
  • A small dialog menu box will appear at the bottom half of your screen. There is a list of options on it but you are only concerned with the option “Command Prompt (Admin)”. The fix won’t work if you do not open your computer’ command prompt window with admin privileges.
  • Once the new window opens, you have to type two different commands:

o Sfc /scannow

o DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

  • The function of the two commands is very simple. It should fix the issue the System file checker scan identifies. When your system scans the files on your Windows computer, it will analyze them against a pre-set format. If there are any discrepancies between the file on your system and the pre-set one it has, it will alert you like the corrupt file. Once it identifies a corrupt file, it will then download a fresh copy of the file online.

Note: The process might take up to an hour on a slow computer. It should only take a max of half an hour on a high-end PC. Once the scanning is complete, you can now restart your computer. If the scan does not fix the error and you are still getting error codes, then you should try the next fix below.

You can find a more recent version by searching the internet and downloading it.
